24hrs flying time prior to Brazil. Don't know how many flights prior to
Brazil (I dont have my log book with me now!) but many.
Experience in Tenerife, Piedrahita (twice), Wales (twice) and local, with some thermalling in Piedrahita
Best XC prior to Brazil was 16ks in Piedrahita.

What flying experience did you have before you came on the trip?
90 hours and toooooo many little top to bottoms. Minimal experience in UK, 7 weeks in Spain and Mexico.
My longest XC was 25 Km in Mexico Jan 2003 – just 2 weeks before the Brazil trip! Longest flight time was 3 hours at Palo Marret, Spain, Feb 2001.

How many hours and number of flights, and what kind of experience did you have before you came on the trip?
I had around 90 Hours airtime, flown on 110 days, so say around 150 flights(?).
To sum up my experience: 2 Hours Olu Deniz, Turkey (SIV); 6 Hours Chamonix, France (top 2 bottoms); 14 Hours (cliff-soaring south of Sydney, Australia); 5 Hours Manilla, Australia (top to bottoms + some XC – 40Km); the rest at various locations in the UK(mostly Southern Hang Gliding Club), mostly ridge-soaring with some thermalling and about 8Km XC.

11 hours 25 mins and 60 flights, including top to bottoms in UK. In the UK, my flying was mostly ridge soaring with a little thermalling over the top of Caburn (which I do remember being 'top of the stack' for a bit!)
