Low airtime paraglider pilot Julian didn't yet feel very confident when flying. He was always conscious that, if anything went wrong, he had little clue and absolutely no practical experience of how to deal with it. He wanted to feel safer. After some investigation he decided to do an SIV course.
The 2005 Long Mynd Paragliding Open was a four-day long-weekend event held on Long Mynd Soaring Club (LMSC) freeflight flying sites from 5th to 8th August. This also doubled-up as the final round of the British Paragliding Cup (BPC) series for the year, and turned out to be the most successful BPC round to date! Tuesday the 7th of June proved to be a superb day's flying from Bo Peep hill, with quite a few paraglider pilots managing some challenging cross country flights, exploring the complex areas of lift around the nearby Sussex South Downs hills, and some farther a-field!...
The 2004 Bleriot Cup was a 6 day event based in the Long Mynd area of Shropshire, England. British Paragliding Team members were Neil Roberts (Team Captain), Steve Pym, Simon Oliphant, Abigail Barr, Charlie Merrett, Burkitt Rudd (Team Reserve) & Flybubble Paragliding's Carlo Borsattino (Vice-Captain).
