The result of this is a sensation of constant penetration, with the wing leading ahead in turbulent conditions and performing extraordinarily well in upwind glides.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA new line layout has reduced the total line length by 30m with the removal of the main D lines. The Addict 2 line set is made from highly durable sheathed Aramid lowers and UV treated unsheathed mids and uppers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTrue performance is not just about figures. Comfort and usability are just as, if not more, important. We have not pushed the AR too high for this type of wing because our philosophy was to create a usable XC machine that can be flown at 100% in all conditions throughout the speed range. The sail tension is based on the development of the Mantra M2 and Mantra R07, and is a very important characteristic of the design as it directly affects the performance of the wing and the way information is transmitted to the pilot. After months of work and comparisons we have reached our goal, which is a well balanced compromise between the two initial choices.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNew Features\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe solution to gaining the advantages of both a 3 line system (less drag) and from the 4 line system (less chordwise deformation = nicer feel) was to create a pyramidal junction of the C and D lines. This resulted in a 30m line reduction, which means a significant improvement in glide performance with no loss of safety or handling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA combination of line material was chosen for a balance between durability and performance. Unsheathed uppers and mids treated with a UV coating save drag, while sheathed riser lines make the lineset more durable and the wing easy to launch and ground-handle in any terrain at any site.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have used the same profile as the M2, with a similar thickness. The main effect is  a glider that is constantly searching ahead, resulting in a better headwind glide and more pitch stability. The sensation is that the Addict 2 slices forward in turbulent air. Not only the glide was improved by a significant amount, but also the climb.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have reduced the cell number by one center cell. Less distance between the line cascade in the center helps to improve the in-flight comfort of the wing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sail tension has been recalculated to meet the need for increased comfort and to reduce the intensity and sharpness of the feedback through the risers. The sail tension is actually based on developments in the M2 and the MantraR07 research, which have proved to be the most comfortable wings in their respective categories.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe arc of the wing has been slightly modified for less roll and higher glide performance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe AR has remained the same: We have achieved a true improvement in performance without interfering with the overall safety of the wing. The idea was not to push it to an extreme that would look great on paper but not be truly usable for LTF 2 pilots.
