Frontcontainer ZIP Light: easy & compact
This clever front reserve container goes especially well with the Advance EASINESS and STRAPLESS ranges of harnesses, but can also be used with other suitable harnesses.
The Frontcontainer ZIP Light goes perfectly with the Companion SQR range of reserves, but can also be used with other compact reserve parachutes of similar low pack volume.
Unique: After easily closing the four stretchy neoprene container flaps the container volume is compressed by closing the convenient zip on the back.
Notable features
- Easy-to-pull ADVANCE reserve handle (release force 3.7 kg) with two yellow ADVANCE plastic release cables
- 4 stretchy easy-to-close front container closure flaps
- Zip fastener along the back to compress the container after the flaps have been closed
- Zipper to compress
- Loop-fastener surface on the top e.g. for mount a small flight instrument
NB: Not suitable for steerable reserves
Easy-to-pull reserve handle
The red reserve handle is easily visible and good to grip even with gloves.
It is easy-to-pull (release force 3.7 kg) with two standard Advance yellow plastic release cables.
The plastic release cables give a more secure fixing and more reliable and easier release (than metal pins).
Zipper to compress
Unique: After easily closing the four stretchy neoprene container flaps the container volume is compressed by closing the convenient zip on the back.
Loop-fastener surface on the top
There's a small loop-fastener surface on the top for fixing a small vario or other mini electronics of your choice (with hook-fastener).
Not suitable for steerable reserves
The Frontcontainer ZIP Light is not suitable for steerable reserve parachutes.
Hanging the reserve on the harness
Before every flight the ZIP Light front container must be hung in the harness carabiners by the ends of the red Y-connection. The carabiner gates must face aft to ensure that the reserve connection loops do not touch them: this may mean reversing the carabiner fitting direction.
Safety advice
The ZIP Light front container is only to be used for paragliding.
It is important that the ends of the ZIP Light front container Y-connections are hung in the harness carabiners before the paraglider risers. In addition, the carabiner gates must face rearwards (opposite the flight direction), so that, if the reserve is thrown, the reserve connection does not cross the paraglider risers.
Correct installation of the reserve must be tested by means of a personal trial release (compatibility test).
FAQ & manual
For answers to FAQ such as how to check the reserve volume, attach the reserve handle to the reserve inner container, connect the reserve to the Y-connection, pack the inner container, close the front container, fit to different harnesses, hang on the harness, complete a compatibility check, other tips and cautions, warranty info, etc, see the manual (see Downloads).
