The Gin Neoprene Maillon Cover is a durable sock designed to stabilize reserve connections, preventing maillon twisting while protecting the webbing and lines from abrasion. Widely used by paraglider and hang glider pilots, it is particularly favored by paramotor pilots for the added protection it offers against exposed connections and hard metal frames.

This cover is ideal for connections using a 7mm square or delta (triangular) maillon, or a 7-8mm standard (oval) maillon. It is also compatible with 6mm square and delta maillons (loose fit) and 8mm square or delta maillons (very tight fit, may require modification). It is not suitable for small 5-6mm standard maillons, soft links, or any hardware larger than 8mm.

The Gin Neoprene Maillon Cover is a specially designed "sock" built to secure and protect your reserve parachute connections. Made from tough, elastic neoprene, it serves as a connector cover, position-fixer, and protector in one.

Stabilization and Safety

Its primary function is to fit tightly over the maillon (metal quick link) that connects your reserve bridle (aka "rescue risers") to the harness or reserve strop. By holding the webbing firmly in place, the cover prevents the maillon from rotating—a critical safety feature during deployment. Additionally, it shields the reserve lines and webbing from abrasion and impact.

While widely used by paraglider and hang glider pilots, this cover is particularly popular among paramotor pilots for the extra protection it offers against exposed metal frames and hard connection points.

Sizing and Compatibility

This cover is designed for specific link sizes. Please check your hardware before ordering:

Perfect Fit: 7mm Square, 7mm Delta (triangular), and 8mm Standard (oval) maillons.
Loose Fit: 6mm Square and Delta maillons.
Very Tight Fit: 8mm Square or Delta maillons (may require careful cutting to install).
Not Suitable: 5-6mm Standard maillons, soft links, or direct loop-to-loop connections (too loose); anything larger than 8mm (too small).
