EPIC FREESTYLE 2: Freestyle Revolution
It's a safe, fun and forgiving EN-B. It is based on the original Epic Freestyle, a firm favourite of schools teaching SIV and "the" go-to wing for learning acro and freestyle.
The EPIC FS 2 can perform all the basic manoeuvres and the hardest connections including Joker and reverse manoeuvres. Its real beauty, and the reason instructors love it so much, is that it is forgiving. It won’t shoot too far if you get inputs or timing wrong, so you can learn new tricks and expand your limits with maximum safety.
BGD recommends you always fly within the weight range. For the fastest progression, fly in the low to middle part of the weight range to learn the manoeuvres, then fly more loaded as you progress.
Target
The original EPIC FREESTYLE has been a revolution in acro paragliding. It has helped open the door to freestyle and acro for pilots of all ages, from fearless teenagers to adventurous 70-year-olds. It quickly became known as the go-to wing for learning acro, earning the trust of pilots everywhere and becoming the top choice for schools teaching the sport.
Now comes the next chapter: EPIC FS 2.
Everything pilots loved about the original is still here. The proven profile and technical design remain unchanged, preserving the playful handling, confidence-inspiring behaviour and progression-friendly character that made the Epic Freestyle a legend.
And when you’re not throwing tricks? The EPIC FS 2 is just as happy carving coastal ridges, climbing thermals or heading off on an XC adventure. Whether you want to learn your first SAT, perfect your heli, or simply enjoy a great day of flying, this is a wing that’s ready for it all.

Designer's notes
The Epic FS2 is a safe and easy wing, with the 5.0 aspect ratio a sweet spot of safety and performance.
Our goal was to ensure pilots enjoy the same great experience, while feeling even more comfortable and connected to the world of acro paragliding.
It has brand new risers, which are neoprene-covered for protection. This reduces the chances of getting stuck or feeling discomfort during manoeuvres. The speed system is routed on the inside of the A-risers, keeping the speed-system lines out of the way for twisted manoeuvres.
The Epic FS 2 is delivered with BGD’s new acro handles. They have a slim design, offering good grip for control and comfort. Neoprene-covered T-bars are positioned at a slight angle for the most natural hand position.
The BGD Acro handles are tethered to the risers with an elastic bungee, so if you choose to remove the brake legs to fly with free brakes, you can release the handles without losing them. If you prefer to fly with brake legs you can remove the tether if you wish.
Standard brake handles can be fitted in place of the BGD Acro handles. Brake legs must be used with standard handles as they are not compatible with tethers.- Bruce Goldsmith
Pilot review
From first collapses to first helicopters, pilots can explore every step with the same ease. Its exceptional range of possibilities makes this wing truly unique on the market.

Features
It Has Your Back
When your tricks go wrong and all hell breaks loose, then there is no better glider to be flying than the EPIC FS 2. It has an amazing way of shooting gently to recover then stopping. It does not cravat easily either, so if you want to throw your rescue less when acro training, the EPIC FS 2 is your wing!
Tethered Brakes
An elastic bungee attaches the Acro brake handles to the risers. For pilots who like to fly with ‘free brakes’ (brake legs / pulleys removed), the tethers allow you to release the brake handles without losing the brakes
BGD Acro Risers
The new neoprene-covered risers improve comfort and reduce snagging during manoeuvres and the speed system is routed on the inside of the A-risers, keeping the speed-system lines out of the way for twisted manoeuvres.
BGD Acro Handles
BGD’s acro handles are comfortable and easy to use for both acro and thermal flying. The brake handles have neoprene-covered T-bars, mounted at a slight angle for the most natural hand position. T-bars give precise finger control, perfect glider feedback and comfortable piloting.
BGD Acro Cover
This elasticated cover for your harness and glider is perfect for pilots doing quick rotations without fully packing. It protects your kit and prevents reserve handles from being accidentally dislodged. Plus you’ll look really cool in the cable car!
IMPECCABLE SPIRAL BEHAVIOUR
The spiral behaviour is astounding – spiral stability can be a problem with low aspect-ratio beginner wings, but BGD have tested the paraglider extensively, with different inclinations and sink rates, and never, ever has it stayed in a spiral, once! This is very unusual for a school glider and is a big safety bonus.
CHORD CUT BILLOW (CCB)
Chord Cut Billow technology has been developed to improve the form friction, glider stability and overall performance of BGD paragliders. Two seams run chord-wise across the top panels of the leading edge. They accommodate the panel ballooning that happens when the wing is inflated. Without CCB, up to five centimetres of excess material is created on the sides of an inflated flat panel when it bends over a wing profile. This results in wrinkles. Chord Cut Billow technology removes this excess material and the 3D panel has fewer ripples and improved rib profile shape and stability.
BGD FEEDBACK
Gliders that talk are safer. Safer gliders make pilots perform better. Better performing pilots fly further. Further flying pilots are happier pilots. BGD Feedback produces happier pilots!
