Design Objective

To produce a glider that is stable, easy to fly, long lasting and satisfies the most demanding of safety standards, the DHV1, all this must be achieved with the minimum of complexity.

The simplicity of the Flite is deceptive. The design of this wing has been more complex and time consuming than a top competition glider. To produce a safe and high performing wing that can be used from day 1 is not the easiest task. We have developed a new profile to reduce pitching and produce exceptionally smooth and progressive launch characteristics.

The Hybrid top surface makes the wing both durable and lightweight. The structure of the wing and line layout are both neat simple and incorporated horizontal tension straps on the A,B and C lines that take the horizontal forces from the line layout into the sail without pulling or creases. Across the whole span there is a D band which controls the spanwise tension in back part of the wing giving the wing the right combination of safety and stability.
