ALIAS 2 Speed Karabiner
Maximize your aerodynamics and harness organization with the Edelrid ALIAS 2 Speed.
Built for performance-focused cross-country pilots, the ALIAS 2 Speed takes Edelrid's acclaimed lightweight carabiner and adds specialized locating "wings." Designed specifically for pod harnesses, these wings allow you to hook your speedbag directly into the upper section, locking its position firmly in place. This lowers the carabiner deeper into the speedbag profile, streamlining your setup, reducing drag, and noticeably improving your aerodynamics in flight.
Manufactured from high-grade aluminium using a specialized hot-forged H-profile construction, it delivers an impressive 23 kN breaking strength while weighing just 62 grams. The double S-shaped curvature ensures optimal force transmission and prevents cross-loading, while the secure twist-lock gate features a keylock nose for snag-free clipping.
For solo use only. Not for tandem use.
Key Features
- Aerodynamic Speedbag Wings: Upper locator wings securely hold your speedbag loops in place, lowering the carabiner profile for reduced drag.
- Snag-Free Twist-Lock Gate: An extra-large 12 mm opening with a keylock nose makes clipping in and out effortless, even with gloves.
- Optimized Strength-to-Weight: The H-profile construction provides maximum strength at minimal weight.
- Anti-Cross-Loading: The double S-shaped bend creates a large approach angle, ensuring organized straps and optimal carabiner positioning.
-
Broad Compatibility: Ideal for paragliding harnesses utilizing 25 mm to 40 mm webbing.
