XENON 3: Win what matters
Who it's for?
The XENON 3 is made for XC pilots who prefer minimal equipment and a small pack volume – but refuse to accept any performance trade-offs.
It is equally at home with ambitious hike & fly competitors who want to race successfully, relying on a wing that delivers proven performance when it matters most.
If your goal is to go far, go light, and stay competitive, the XENON 3 is your tool.
Refined to win
The XENON 2 was developed with one clear objective: to create a high-performance glider for the Red Bull X-Alps.
Under Aaron Durogati, the XENON 2 won the 2025 edition of the race. It proved what it was built for.
And yet - it never went into production.
The XENON 2 was a pure race machine. Developed under intense time pressure to meet certification deadlines, it delivered outstanding performance. But while submitting it for certification, Nova already knew: especially in handling, there was untapped potential. The performance was there - the refinement was not.
Nova knew they could do better.
Why version 3?
Because excellence deserves refinement.
The XENON 3 is not a completely new glider. The canopy itself remains unchanged – the aerodynamic concept that won the world's toughest hike-and-fly race did not need reinvention.
Instead, Nova focused on precision improvements:
- Optimized finishing in the leading edge area
- More precise guidance of the Nitinol rods
- Fine-tuned 3D shaping
The result: Even more power, especially in full acceleration flight, and noticeably improved filling behavior.
But the most significant evolution lies elsewhere.
A new brake concept
For the XENON 3, Nova completely redesigned the brake system.
Each size now features a specifically tuned brake geometry that delivers:
- Direct, precise handling
- Clearly defined brake pressure
- Immediate feedback
- Maximum control
The brake input feels compact and confidence-inspiring – giving you exactly what you need at racing speed: trust.
Not more. Not less. Just control.
The XENON 3 is the glider the XENON 2 was meant to become.
Proven in competition.
Refined for those who demand more.
Built to last
Durability was a deliberate design choice.
Instead of pushing weight savings to the absolute limit, Nova focused on long-term performance stability. The internal structure as well as the leading edge are built for a longer lifetime. Using Dominico 2044 (20D) fabric at the leading edge – selected for its proven resistance and shape retention over time.
The result is a wing that maintains its handling, performance, and structural integrity even after extensive use in demanding alpine environments.
Light where it matters.
Strong where it counts.
Technology
Consistent at top speed
Using thin webbing at the leading edge, the upper and lower surfaces are connected in the middle of each cell. This promotes leading edge solidity in flight, which is particularly beneficial to performance when flying at speed.
Shaped in top form
In 3D-shaping, a seam on the upper surface extends over the entire span and reduces the amount of folds caused by the curvature over two axes. Two axes, because the sail cloth has to align to the profile form and the ballooning also determines a radius which the cloth also has to follow.
Comfort on the ground
All Nova paragliders are simple and straightforward to handle. Using a cell pack bag is possible but not strictly necessary. Nova's long-standing experience shows that the packing method has only a minor influence on durability, as bent rods usually return to their original shape on their own.
What matters is storing the wing in a loosely packed, stress-free manner, so the rods are not subjected to sharp bends. Short-term compact packing or the use of a fast pack bag is unproblematic. For optimal long-term protection of the rods, Nova recommends a cell pack bag, as it keeps the rods neatly aligned and prevents permanent deformation.
Light as a feather and robust
Very light but still durable: Light weight Nova wings weigh little but are still robust enough to withstand the hard conditions of the mountains. The profiles are made out of durable cloth, so that this highly-stressed component does not deform – like it can with ultra-light material. This means Nova is able to guarantee consistent flying characteristics.
Congratulations Aaron!
Aaron Durogati: "For me it's the best glider in that class."
