Ozone production times

Ozone wings are made to order. Ozone gives their current approximate production time on their website in working days, for example: "The current production time is approximately 22 days from order to shipping". Add 1-3 weeks for shipping, and allow for unexpected delays. Some may claim shorter delivery times however we're unsure how they can supply faster than the manufacturer themselves can produce and ship! ;-)

The Pilot

The Alta GT is designed for pilots who "want it all", in a highly safe and reliable wing. It is a great first wing when you start thermal up, or enjoy your first hike and fly adventures. If you want the performance necessary to fly your first XC, but prioritize ease of use and safety, and also want a light and versatile wing for everyday flying, then the Alta has what you need.

The Tech

The Alta GT contains design technology that has pushed the boundaries of performance in our most advanced wings.

• Double transversal shaping for high efficiency in the nose and leading edge.
• Optimized intake positioning for high internal pressure and good chord stability for handling and performance.
• The lower intake section benefits from an innovative new feature which eliminates vibration common in lower aspect ratio designs.
• 3D referenced rib alignments for optimal airflow and efficiency.
• The high arc design combined with winglets offers the best of both worlds: better handling, and good roll stability and spiral behaviour.
• A new and unique profile developed from the Moxie provides fast and easy inflation and launch.
• The low drag line plan and materials was developed from knowledge gained in the X-Alps wing R&D program.
• Its every-day durability makes the Alta GT more than just a light wing!

In flight

It sits solidly in the EN A category in terms of passive safety and reliability, yet has the glide performance of a mid-range EN B. Whether you're launching from a coastal dune or a high alpine col, going XC or just thermalling locally, the Alta will take you there with ease.

This unique combination of design tech has created a wing that is forgiving, easy to launch and fly, durable enough to be your only wing, and light enough to carry anywhere.

The GT Range

GT stands for Gran Turismo or Grand Tourer, and is our semi-light glider range, providing the in-flight benefits of a lower canopy weight and the robustness close to a standard weight wing with better longevity than dedicated light wings. The GT range is an expression of our true-performance promise; light, agile and safe with class leading performance in the most demanding conditions.

Designer notes

Creating the Alta GT was a simple yet exciting mission: to design an EN A wing with complete creative freedom—an “open bar” approach—to extract the maximum in both performance and fun.

The Alta GT is a new kind of wing in our range, where absolute safety meets fresh ambitions. It’s not just a wing for training purposes—it’s built for a much wider audience.

To move forward, we focused on reducing line drag and making the sail as clean as possible, chasing away every wrinkle. Double 3D shaping, progressive rib alignment, and a more complex internal structure allowed us to reduce the number of lines, and those were key ingredients in raising the bar so significantly.

The combination of a high arc and winglets opened new possibilities, translating into improved handling, reactivity, and stability.

Choosing a semi-light construction was also an obvious decision, in line with the GT pedigree. Lighter materials make the wing better in every respect—thanks to reduced inertia—yet it remains robust enough to be a true “do-it-all” companion.

With the Alta GT, we wanted to offer everything a wing should provide pilots of any experience level: performance, fun, and the highest level of passive safety guaranteed by the EN A category.

Pilot review

The Alta is the perfect mix of safety, performance and fun in the A-Class. Flying mostly 2-liners, I'm impressed by how far entry wings have come and often take my Alta for relaxing after-work or smaller XC flights. It thermals effortlessly and behaves very relaxing even in strong and turbulent conditions.

A wing you can learn to fly on and keep progressing with for a long time!
