Versatile in essence
Easy inflation, soft piloting and progressive turning. A very steady 3 liner opening up the doors to an exciting world of flying possibilities.
Accessible performance
With an enhanced aerodinamical profile fitted with RAM technology and Nitinol material, the glider travels effortlessly through the air mass. Taking the reins of its superb ability to perform will make you enjoy every single adventure in the sky.
Weight reasons
The weight of the wing was reduced by 5% when compared to the previous model. Less weight means less drag so more efficiency and more passive safety.
More about Hook 4
The Hook 4 is an accessible glider for entry level pilots. A model for everyone who wants to take the next step and explore his/her abilities and possibilities as pilot while flying routes and landscapes not yet discovered. The glider accessibility, manageability and excellent performance let the pilot choose his flight paths to become the protagonist of his experience in the sky.
The docile and intuitive character of this new model brings full awareness in flight, handling ease and provides the means to progress in all phases of flight with peace of mind.
Because at Niviuk we know that confidence multiplies enjoyment exponentially, we decided to create a more balanced and stable model than its predecessors. For this reason we have worked on two fundamental aspects of the glider: the first one was to bet on the integration of a super material called Nitinol; and second, optimized the internal wing structure. Due to these major changes, we have reduced the glider weight by 5% when compared to the Hook 3.
The final result is a lighter, more dampened paraglider with a considerable reduction in inertia, and ultimately, greater pilot safety.
We have also have refined the Hook 4's Ram Air Intake system in order to increase ad keep constant internal cell pressure. Furthermore, the incorporation of Nitinol enabled us to have a more homogeneous surface and hence a better airflow. By modifying the airflow and promoting greater internal pressure to better fight turbulent air than what was found in previous models, we increased efficiency and glide.
As you can see, in the Niviuk’s DNA, serenity and good performance are not contradictory concepts. For those reasons, we define the Hook 4 as an accessible “B” category wing, full of innovations, comfortable to fly and equipped with technologies only found with the highest level gliders. The rest is up to you!
Technologies Hook 4
SLE (Structured Leading Edge)
The SLE provides more rigidity and stability along the span of leading edge but also allows full flexibility along the both the vertical and horizontal axis of each open cell. The SLE ensures ease of movement on the ground and high security in the air during turbulence and whilst flying at speed.
With the SLE system there is no longer a need to use large amounts of mylar material to achieve leading edge reinforcement. This reduction in material has reduced the weight of the leading edge and the result is precise handling on the ground and easier launches. The SLE also helps to prevent deformation of the leading edge mylars and therefore with correct care will extend the life and efficiency of your glider.
In addition to the SLE, we work on new geometry and layout of the internal reinforcement. This new internal re structuring offers better overall cohesion of the glider and incredible stability during turbulence.
Ram Air Intake
Constant improving. Evolution and constant improving in all our products is the essence of the DNA of Niviuk’s R&D team. Thanks to the new technologies created over recent years, we have conceived new and more evolved and higher performing gliders. In this context the Ram Air Intake technology should be pointed out.
The evolution of Ram Air Intake. Ram Air Intake technology allows an optimal position for the the air intakes (below the leading edge of the glider aligned with the intrados) to creates excellent internal pressure as well as an improving of the laminar flow on intrados. What’s the result? Gaining turbulent air absorption in the leading edge, more consistency in variable speed and a better performance while assuring maximum security. All these features, that can perfectly define an upper category glider, meet on the brand-new Hook 3. Our latest EN-B has born from many years of effort and commitment to develop a top and more effective profile. From our first intake featured including the technology in 2006, the Hook, going through Hook 2 in 2010, to the Hook 3 and Peak 3 in 2013
Technology, a priority for Niviuk. For us, giving importance to small details means continuing working towards our goal. It means keeping focused on technology as a priority. It means provide innovation and quality to all pilots. This way SLE, STE and Ram Air Intake technologies procure the higher level to be at the top of this amazing sport.
DRS (Drag Reduction Structure)
With the Drag reduction Structure technology, the trailing edge has been reinforced with small ribs that that makes this part of the glider flatter in order to spread the pressure out evenly. It means better air-flow and less drag on this important part of the glider.
The addition of these small ribs gives the glider exceptional handling (better and more efficient when turning) and more control and precision. We are convinced that the key to achieve better products is the innovation. Only if we go on looking for new possibilities, we will be able to reach our main goal: enhance the experience of the pilots.

Niviuk Hook 4 Reviews
Parapente Mag reviewed the Hook 4: "Niviuk distinguishes itself from other brands by bringing a feeling of comfort and safety under its wings. The Niviuk gliders tend to absorb and filter the air mass irregularities. The Hook 4 fits the mould and definitely is part of the brand’s DNA." One of the strengths of the Hook 4 is without doubt the level of confidence it brings to the pilot. For that reason Parapente Mag explains in the essay published this past March, that the model "targets pilots to whom the sense of safety under a wing is an important parameter". In its past versions the comfort of the Hook was directly proportional to it performance. However, according to the magazine, Niviuk has wanted to reinforce and refine the connection between accessibility, performance and manoeuvrability in the Hook 4. During the test it became evident that when compared to the Hook 3, the Hook 4 is a wing with a more efficient glide (especially when flying through air the mass irregularities) and a greater reactivity in turns, thus giving it a pleasant feeling of precision. Pilot's opinion
Cedar Wright: "The Hook 4 is built like a tank and performs like a sports car. No matter how turbulent or rough the day is, I feel totally comfortable and safe under the Hook 4, and because it's super responsive I can easily center and core the most ratty thermal! I love this wing; I've had some of the most incredible experiences of my life thanks to the Hook!"
