The Accommodation
We will be staying in nice, modern apartments in a small, charming Spanish town - one of the famous "Pueblos Blancos", the enchanting White Villages of Andalucia. These have air conditioning and heating, and a shared living room and kitchen. There is a big terrace, with a lovely view of the town and the mountains. Each apartment has 3 rooms: 2 double rooms, with two single beds and a shared bathroom outside; and 1 room with a double bed with private bathroom. Included in the price is a shared double room and shared bathroom. There would be an extra cost to have a single room with shared bathroom, and a bit more for a single en-suite room (with private bathroom), if available. If you have any special requirements, let us know and we will see what we can do!
What's Not Included?
Anything not listed above isn't included. For example, the following things are not included in the price of the trip:
• Airline Flights
• Medical Repatriation & Travel Insurance (needs to be pre-arranged before the trip)
• BHPA Membership (needs to be pre-arranged before the trip)
• Paragliding Equipment (available to hire or purchase from us)
• Meals (lunch, dinner or drinks)
Airline Flights
We fly London Gatwick to Malaga and usually with Easyjet; flight costs are around £60-150 for an adult fare including 20Kg normal luggage allowance. If you can find cheaper flights (for the right dates and airports) then let us know! Once we have received deposits from the minimum number of pilots required for the trip to go ahead then we will try to find the best price for flights for each trip and then individuals pay for these directly themselves.
It is always best if everyone is on the same flight, but we understand this is not always possible as people come from different places. All we ask is that, to minimize unnecessary delays, everyone is at the airport at the same time, or earlier than the main group arrival time for the airport transfer on the way out. On the way back (i.e. return flight) you should ensure your flight is at the same time or later than the main group's flight. If you book flights that do not fit in with the main group then you will have to make your own arrangements for airport transfers.
Medical Repatriation & Travel Insurance
All paragliding students must have adequate medical repatriation insurance that specifically covers them for paragliding for the duration of the course (at least). Please be aware that 'normal' travel insurance often excludes activities such as paragliding. Insurance that specifically covers paragliding is very specific to paragliding. We can supply you with details of companies that may offer insurance which specifically covers paragliding but it is up to you to ensure that the insurance you pay for specifically covers paragliding and you are adequately covered for the duration of the course.
BHPA Membership
As we are a BHPA Registered School, to do a paragliding course with us you are required to take out BHPA Membership for the duration of your paragliding course. This is the same for any BHPA Registered School.
The cost of BHPA Membership is not included in the price for this paragliding course. You will need to pay for this separately directly to the BHPA. We will need to see proof of your BHPA Membership before we can commence any training with you.
The minimum BHPA Membership required to take part in this paragliding course is BHPA 12 Month 'Full Annual' Membership, which is the minimum you need to be able to be awarded your BHPA Club Pilot rating. The BHPA are also currently offering an option of 2 years of BHPA Membership at a special offer price, which could save you money in the longer term.
Paragliding Equipment
Hire/Use of PG equipment for 6 days: £240 (Includes: paraglider; harness; helmet; radio). Alternatively, contact us to discuss purchasing your own paragliding equipment before the trip.
