Puffin V2: pure soaring

Design

Based on the brand-new Gracchio Mk3, it incorporates LittleCloud progressive reflex profile, optimizing stability, lift, and wind penetration. With an exceptionally wide range of use, particularly at the lower end, thanks to its outstanding efficiency!
The Puffin V2 proudly carries LittleCloud’s DNA: exceptional pitch stability, direct handling, large brake range, and high passive safety.
The simplicity of the design translates into incredible ease of use, predictable reactions, and dimensional balance, allowing it to be used with either Kiterisers or trimmer risers!
In Kiteriser mode, you’ll get a more dynamic Parakite approach, prioritizing the joy of carving and gliding over the hand’s up diving!
Ultra-precise across its entire control range, it will push you to the bottom of your harness during committed turns or endless flares!

Target

The Puffin V2 is designed for intermediate pilots with some mini-wing experience seeking a dynamic, high-performance, and ultra-versatile wing for parakite-style soaring as well as the full range of classic mini-wing activities with standard risers.
Original Puffin lovers will be impressed with this new version!
Unlike its little sister La Mouette, the Puffin V2 is noticeably more dynamic in roll and more energetic! It is therefore slightly more demanding than La Mouette but remains accessible thanks to its remarkable precision and exceptional tolerance at low speeds!
With low weight and compact size, along with a wide speed range, it will accompany you everywhere—be it at the beach, in the mountains for thermaling, or soaring…

Tests

Littlecloud tested and pushed the wings to their limits in real-world conditions, up to a level of turbulence they consider borderline flyable!
The behavior is predictable, with the wings clearly communicating the air mass, warning pilots with small tip closures. These minor closures serve as an effective regulation system, temporarily increasing the angle of attack and wing loading without affecting heading!
They used standard risers to assess behavior during induced collapses.

Note that the exceptional stability of the profile and wing in flight only delays the point at which a collapse may occur, as with all soft-structure wings!
Keep in mind that this type of reflex profile does not have an “autopilot” mode!
With Kiterisers, stall phases are clearly “announced” to the pilot, and the wing instantly resumes flight when the pilot raises their hands!
For experienced pilots this offers the opportunity to play with the stall point. For example during top landings.
In more dynamic roll maneuvers, the wing responds instantly to pilot inputs without overreacting or surprises!

Even though the Puffin V2 offers a very high level of passive safety, only the pilot’s awareness and behavior are the true safeguards against incidents/accidents.

V1 vs V2

The Puffin V2 increases its precision, stability, and speed compared to V1.
It’s easier to use but offers a wider range of use because of its unmatched level of precision. The lower brake pressure makes it less tiring, especially in Kiterisers mode.
Wind range, whether you are in Kiterisers or Regular risers is even wider!
Stability of the wingtips is higher but still they remain softer than the center of the canopy to prevent from massive collapses and to warn the pilot of the naughtiness of the air.

Puffin V2 TrimRisers vs KiteRisers

• Puffin V2 TrimRisers: Mini wing style risers with trimmers for the Puffin V2. One size.
• Kite Risers: Parakite-style risers. One size. Also compatible with some other LittleCloud wings.

Kiterisers

The Kiterisers have been developed with the best material on the market (Ronstan Orbit block, dyneema/Kevlar webbing blend). You can control your angle of attack with your hands, instantly. That means you can adjust your speed and the power of the glider at any time. The design mixes a very stiff A riser and soft dyneema rope for the rest. This offers a great ease of use and reduces tangling problems on preparation. The Kiterisers have an adjustable limiter so that every pilot can adjust the hands up position during their learning process.

LittleCloud also implemented a solution to get 3 positions for the T bar to improve the ergonomics for smaller sized pilots. The handles are flashy red so you can locate them in the blink of an eye.
