FLAME: Hybrid Speedwing / Miniwing - Safe, fast, agile & responsive

The FLAME Speedwing was developed under the concept of a no compromise miniwing.
The lessons learned in the development of some of the most iconic speedwings the industry has seen culminated into a new breed of wing in a category of its own.

The FLAME maintains a flat glide at the closed trim position for long transitions or light wind soaring. Long and progressive brake travel provides confidence during launch and more advanced flight manoeuvres. Feedback is direct but not aggressive allowing for precise piloting during turbulence without overwhelming the pilot.

Flame Speedwing Behaviour is similar to a traditional paraglider when flown trims closed making thermalling and XC flying achievable with a high margin of passive safety. Fully releasing the trims of the FLAME miniwing significantly steepens the glide and increases speed. Pilot authority over the handling increases with design characteristics taken from Level's speedwings.

The broad range presents an industry first in flight versatility. Flights requiring a mix of glide and agility, stability and responsiveness are now possible. Progressive and controllable dive, smoother energy retention and exceptional roll speed allow for precise handling even in the largest sizes.

Short line length and long progressive brake travel allow precision and handling reminiscent of significantly smaller wings. A no compromise approach to the handling enables safe piloting under a range of conditions.

At Level Wings safety isn’t just about passive characteristics. Level Wings took their experience in high altitude mountaineering flights to evaluate all areas of a mini-wing that contribute to its safety. Giving you the confidence to fly from the worlds most demanding summits, to discovering untouched soaring locations.

Tangle free riser and line layout ➔ FLAME IS OPTIMISED FOR TANGLE FREE LAUNCHES

For the most demanding of launches, including high alpinism, they wanted the launch the be as stress free as possible. For this reason, they have used traditional nylon risers. Total line consumption is extremely low and optimised for tangle free launches. Extensive line testing and prototyping results in both lightweight and reduced risk of knots and tangles.

Progressive brake and high pressure ➔ FLAME MINIWING HAS LONG BRAKE RANGE

The FLAME long brake range allows for precise piloting into tight landing sites or technical descents. Its progressive travel responds to pilot inputs more intuitively, without dead spots in the brake range which is common on mini-wings.

Firm and reassuring pressure and feedback from the brakes prevent new pilots from over piloting the wing and allow experienced pilots to gain greater feedback from the wing and fly close to its flight limits with confidence.

Outstanding collapse resistance ➔ FLAME SPEEDWING HAS strong COLLAPSE RESISTANCE

Profile and line layout have been optimised to provide incredible collapse resistance. Level WIngs took their experience in developing some of the industry's most iconic speed-wings to develop a profile giving the pilot complete confidence at all flight configurations.
