Gracchio Mk2: Very fun! A real LittleCloud glider
Design
- The Goal was to increase the usability from the Original Gracchio, in reducing the “power” feeling which was intimidating some pilots. The Glider uses the Urubu airfoil with smaller air intakes. The speciality of this airfoil is its efficiency and extreme safety (extremely pitch stable even after massive collapses, and huge brake travel).
- Because of the high efficiency delivered by this wing, LittleCloud were able to use sheathed lines for the bridle! The shape and planform is 100% new, with 49 cells and 5.3 aspect ratio. The Glider feedback is softer but still informing the pilot about the air they’re flying. The Gracchio Mk2 is produced with semi-light materials, which are more durable but keep an overall weight very low thanks to its design simplicity.
- The Gracchio Mk2 is a glider which makes you feel comfortable right away! Its accessibility is larger than its predecessor. With or without wind, inflation and rise are easy and loft less. Its’ handling is very predictive and intuitive, and delivers a lot of fun.
- The handling is extraordinary: extremely precise, allowing to core small thermals. For such a low AR, it has great glide and great upwind penetration. Like always at LittleCloud, they pay particular attention to the passive safety: the performance gains come with exceptional safety.
- The long brake travel gets very heavy before the stall point (65cm for the 19/21 up to 80cm on the 27!). At LittleCloud are convinced that these parameters combined with the pitch stable behavior are the key to a very safe wing.
Target
The Gracchio Mk2 is aimed for autonomous pilots looking for a glider which will not limit their desire of flying XC, soaring, or hike and fly. It’s a perfect step up after the GT2 for pilots aiming for more experience with LittleCloud. Be aware that this kind of wing, because of its’ performance, is not designed to compensate for the lack of skill or experience of the pilot, even though its potential allows it to fly longer and further!

Features
- LC inflation: 100% control of the rise, the wing strictly follows the pilot's decision!
- Bitey in the thermal
- Sharp, precise, and super fun handling.
- Comfortable and soft communication.
- Very high level of passive safety: Huge brake range, extremely pitch stable (the glider doesn’t shoot forward).
Reviews
"The wing rises easily in all conditions from light wind to stronger. Even in strong gusty conditions the wing still rose smoothly with no sudden acceleration. The couple of forward launches I did were equally easy. Once in the air the wing feels nicely responsive, turning easily and immediately when brakes are applied. Roll feels a bit more controlled than on the original and, while it will happily flick up on a wing-tip, it is a little easier to keep flat when you need it.
Going on bar the wing accelerates smoothly with no massive increase in sink rate. At trim speed it’s maybe not as fast as the latest high-B wings but was in line with other mid-B wings I was flying with. The bar gave a good 12km/h extra when going pulley-to-pulley and I felt comfortable using the whole range. It was then an into-wind push along the ridges back to the car. Here again the pitch stability showed as the wing smoothly pushed through broken lift. What could have been an uncomfortable glide was marked for its smoothness with the wing neither getting knocked back or surging: this is great behaviour for a wing aimed at pilots starting their cross-country explorations.
The Gracchio has matured, and has become less demanding of its pilot, giving the same levels of performance with true B-style demands. Little Cloud’s inherent pitch stability make it an easy wing to fly, even in big air. I was impressed with its into-wind performance: not getting knocked around really seems to help this in real air. The light weight and good low-speed behaviour also makes it suitable for vol-biv adventures, with more than enough performance for early adventures. If you are not worried about the lack of EN certification, give the wing a try – you might just fall in love."

LittleCloud Philosophy & Certification
It all started in 2008… with Tom’s vision of being able to enjoy flying as much as possible, all year long, and with maximum pleasure, LittleCloud was born. Pleasure, it seems, is something that is often lost in flying… because of the never-ending quest for performance and maximum distance. It has become their mission and philosophy at LittleCloud to deny this quest and focus their efforts on creating products for a community of pilots that pursue the pleasure of flight
A while back, LittleCloud chose to opt out of the flight certification game, except for tandem wings.
