The basic design of the Mentor 3 Light and Mentor 3 is the same. A few weight reducing features make the difference: The Light version weighs over 1.5kg less. The flight characteristics remain quite the same, however the reduced canopy weight slightly improves the launch behaviour and the reaction to collapses. Of course it's not quite as durable.

We reduced the weight of the Mentor 3 Light with the following measures:

lighter cloth (32g/sqm) on the rear top sail
lighter cloth (27g/sqm) on the bottom sail.
lighter risers.
more cut outs on some inner parts, like on the profile ribs
some more slightly adapted design details
