The VIOLA 2 is an even more amazing and lighter paraglider than the first VIOLA. It's a superb wing for an exceptionally wide range of pilots. Absolute beginners wanting a light, compact wing will appreciate its high passive safety. Whether in rocky mountains, grassy hills or sandy dunes, the VIOLA 2 is always at home.
Six sizes cover certified flying weights from 50 to 145 kg.

VIOLA 2: the continuation of a success story
The first VIOLA wrote a success story. The pilots loved her performance, dynamic energy, precision and of course everything paired with her playful ease.
The VIOLA 2 continues this success. It is even lighter than its predecessor and even more balanced.
Better launch behavior, better roll damping, better handling and more performance.
Viola 2 secrets
The secret to develop extraordinary wings is the passion to fly. PHI team are enthusiastic pilots, loving hike and fly adventures. They have to admit: they built the VIOLA 2 for themselves.
Designer's notes
"Although the VIOLA 2 has fewer attachments than its predecessor and therefore a more complex interior, although it has additional miniribs in the nose and more stiff rods in the opening, it is even lighter!
In our quest for further weight loss, we found even more security. We can thus attest to the exceptional safety of the VIOLA 2.
Same as her predecessor, the VIOLA 2 is an extreme versatile wing: a VIOLA 2 18 is a very easy and safe school wing loaded with 55kg, but as well a high level sports equipment for experienced pilots at the double amount of load: 110kg!"— Hannes Papesh, Phi Designer
Features
Due to the high complexity of the inner construction of the VIOLA 2, the forces are distributed very evenly. The high form stability enables a flat surface: this means better roll damping and more performance.
The new, stiffer rods in the intake area offer an extremely good inflation and takeoff behaviour. A must in extreme alpine locations!
Flybubble review
The VIOLA 2 is PHI's lightweight version of the SONATA 2.
Our review of the PHI SONATA 2:
"The perfect balance in EN A class? Phi Sonata 2 might be the entry level glider but regardless of that it offers wide range of use. As Phi claims its the perfect balance glider!
The main pilot group are new pilots, pilots finishing their training and getting their first glider going outta school.
Super safe and super simple glider is what describes Phi Sonata 2 pretty well!
Why would you pick Sonata 2 rather than a Symphonia? With Sonata 2 pilot demands are a bit lower which is on thing but diving deeper into the materials and difference in construction brings us to the cost of the glider which is significantly less considering Symphonia and Symphonia 2 have more complex construction and lighter (more expensive) materials.
With Sonata 2 you get fully sheathed lines, very robust and nicely colour coded risers prioritising ease of use rather than performance being main priority. Cost of Sonata 2 is lower helping pilots get into the sport!
Going down in Phi’s range, we’ve got the Fantasia which is even easier glider, more robust offering even higher safety and more durability and with that even lower cost.
Phi offering 3 A gliders in their range. Starting with Fantasia which is the basic entry level school glider, cheapest option, very simple and safe. Followed by the middle to a high A category where Sonata 2 is sitting. And if you want the best of the best in A class you got Symphonia 2 being that super high A.
Keep in mind that with ease of use being a priority over the performance and lighter materials, the cost is lower. Increasing performance and adding complex design structure with lighter materials increases the cost of the glider.
If you are looking for as the Phi says “the perfect balance” than Sonata 2 might be your wing!"

Risers
Standard: ‘Semilight’ R04 (3+1)
Optional: ‘Superlight’ RZ3 (3), ‘Superlight +’ R03 (3 +1), ‘Semlight C Handle’ R07 (3+1)
You are free to customize and choose another riser free of charge but this will delay your order by 3-7 days. If saving every gram is your top priority, you may choose the "Superlight" RZ3 riser. This reduces the weight on the tech data list by around 250-285g but compromises usability and increases speed system pressure.
