Flight decks, also known as cockpits, allow for easy attachment and removal of instruments to and from your harness. They typically include a mounting area for instruments on top, storage space underneath, and a connection system to attach the harness using webbing loops with buckles, or something similar.
Flight panels, also known instrument panels, are used for easy attachment and detachment of instruments to a flight deck or cockpit. They generally don't include any storage space or a connection system to the harness.
Some flight decks and flight panels are specific to certain harness models; others are made to fit various harnesses.
