The Diva 2 is out to get what she wants, and she wants to win! BGD unashamedly admit they designed her to beat the best of the competition. That bar is way high and ever moving, and the Diva 2 has been a few years in development. She’s a product of the BGD Performance Quest project, which has involved huge amounts of numerical analysis and exploration of new ideas from their young R&D team. The computers have been smoking! Though the project and the quest for more performance will never end, BGD are confident the Diva 2 is ready to stand up against the competition and set a benchmark in her class.
BGD have worked very hard to maximise the performance of the small size Diva 2. Through a dedicated load test and months of fine-tuning and trimming, with their R&D team and also in numerous competitions, BGD made sure that their test pilot Tyr Goldsmith, who is only 60kg, would fly a very competitive glider, therefore reducing the differences between light and heavy pilots.
The Diva 2 has fast, responsive handling, a high top speed, excellent glide and stability at all speeds. On bar, the B riser pressure is very light, a testament to the high stability and giving it its unique feeling – after a few hours, you will not want to go back! This effect has been achieved by maximising the amount of ‘reflex’ in the shape of the aerofoil. It means you can be really confident to push full bar even in difficult situations.
While the Diva 2 remains relatively easy to fly, she is designed for experienced pilots with the glider-handling skills to match a fast and high-performance wing.
Target
An all-out 2-liner performance machine, the Diva 2 has winning DNA and EN-D safety. Made for competition pilots and big distance hunters, she’s very fast and stable, with exceptional glide performance.

Designer's notes
The Diva 2 likes to be noticed in a crowd. Her fashion choice is bright and bold, and her silhouette stands out with her high arc and short lines. Short lines not only reduce parasitic drag, but give the pilot a really close, connected feel to the wing.
She’s fast and racy, with a full 20cm range on the accelerator. This incredible speed range has been made possible thanks to the unprecedented level of pitch stability as a result of the short-line design and reflex aerofoils.
You can rely on the Diva 2 to remain calm in a crisis. Her behaviour when taken outside of the normal flight envelope is exemplary. After asymmetric collapses, even accelerated, she only turns gently. Stalls are easily controllable and cravats rare. We’ve flown lots of spiral dives, and the Diva 2 recovers without input from even the deepest dives.

Features
PROGRESSIVE STABILITY
Using ALULA, BGD gliders are designed to have a stable and solid centre with progressively softer tips. This teaches pilots to predict and avoid deflations and stav aware of the air.
DEDICATED LINE DESIGN FOR SIZE S
A separate load test was carried out for the S size, allowing us to use thinner lines and benefit from reduced drag, so increasing the performance.
HIGHLY PITCH-STABLE 'REFLEX' PROFILE
The highly pitch-stable profile means the glider is more resistant to collapses, especially when accelerated. It is less work for the pilot and more relaxing to fly.
MAXIMISED UNSUPPORTED CELLS
Optimised unsupported cell groups are designed to match the span-wise load distribution influenced by the line layout. Coupled with a strong internal structure, the line layouts that create more span-wise tension can support more unsupported cells. While maintaining a homogenous wing, this helps to minimise line consumption reducing drag thus improving performance,
CHORD CUT BILLOW (CCB)
Chord Cut Billow technology has been developed to improve the form friction, glider stability and overall performance of our paragliders. Two seams run chord-wise across the top panels of the leading edge. They accommodate the panel ballooning that happens when the wing is inflated. Without CCB, up to five centimetres of excess material is created on the sides of an inflated flat panel when it bends over a wing profile. This results in wrinkles. Chord Cut Billow technology removes this excess material and the 3D panel has fewer ripples and improved rib profile shape and stability.
HIGH ARC
The high arc is optimised for sharp handling and high stability.
CFD
High-fidelity aerodynamic simulations (CFD) were used to predict flow characteristics around the wing. This allowed us to optimise the shape of the wing in order to maximise performance.
RAKED WINGTIPS
The wingtip shape is key for performance. It has been optimised during countless numerical simulations.
SHORT LINES
Short lines in combination with a high arc, give the pilot a unique, intuitive and very connected feel to the glider.
SNAP LOCKS
Snap Locks are lightweight, compact attachments that connect the brakes to the risers. A small focused magnet inside the catch and an internal locking system hold the handle in place, releasing only if the handles are pulled down towards the pilot. This unique design feature means the handles don't fall off while kiting, packing, or performing manoeuvres. The Snap Lock system solves many of the problems associated with press-studs and magnets.
CARBON HANDLES
Carbon handles for the rear-riser steering are comfortable, easy to use and facilitate flying fast.
BGD FEEDBACK
Gliders that talk are safer. Safer gliders make pilots perform better. Better performing pilots fly further. Further flying pilots are happier pilots. BGD Feedback produces happier pilots!
