Reserve deployments on the G-Force Trainer show that pilots can find it difficult to deploy their reserve in emergency situations. This is because reserves are mostly offered in universal inner containers, for both harnesses and front containers. However, this compromise is not optimal. Tom Grabner has therefore developed two different versions, each specially adapted to harnesses or front containers, and optimised these on the G-Force Trainer.
The Charly Flat Reserve Inner Container was designed for paragliding harnesses, with a flat, conical shape and rounded corners. Tests have shown that this design can be pulled out of the rescue compartment of the harness much faster and with less effort than cube-shaped and volume compressed inner containers. Suitable for Charly DIAMONDcross and TARGETcross reserve parachutes, the Charly Flat Reserve Inner Container can also be used with conventional Charly reserve systems (see the list below). Charly have no objection to use it for other similar paragliding reserve systems.
The inner container has a separate area for the canopy lines. This is advantageous for safe storage inside the harness and controlled deployment in emergency situations. Only after the lines have been stretched, the canopy is released and opens quickly and in a controlled manner. This minimizes the risk of the paraglider and rescue parachute becoming entangled. The closures consist of rubber strands with fabric sheathing. They are much more durable than conventional packing rubbers.
