Ozone production times
Ozone wings are made to order. Ozone gives their current approximate production time on their website in working days, for example: "The current production time is approximately 26 days from order to shipping". Add 1-3 weeks for shipping, and allow for unexpected delays. Some may claim shorter delivery times however we're unsure how they can supply faster than the manufacturer themselves can produce and ship! ;-)
Buzz Z7: Beginner / Intermediate plus - B
The Buzz Z7 retains all of the legendary ease of use and high passive safety of the Buzz series, with the addition of the latest tech gleaned from their continuous R&D efforts.
- New planform with increased wing sweep for improved roll stability
- New rib alignment for improved airflow and efficiency.
- New tab positioning improves stability in accelerated flight.
- New leading edge construction with more reinforcement and cleaner profile.
- New line rigging for improved load-distribution to increase agility.
- New panel shaping in the trailing edge for improved handling and brake response.
All of these refinements have improved flight characteristics and performance. The first thing you will notice is a more linear and direct response in the brakes and the resulting increase in agility and precision of handling. Top speed has also been increased, and glide performance improved throughout the accelerator range.
This category of wing is highly important to Ozone as it serves such a wide range of pilots, and the Z7 is the most efficient wing Ozone has ever produced in its "True B" class. It is designed for pilots who want a fun and capable XC wing with the best passive safety available at this level.
The sail is constructed from the same materials for an ideal blend of durability and lightness, and the lower lines are now fully sheathed and colour-coordinated for ease of use and reliability on launch. Ozone’s new risers also make launch prep simpler, and flight more comfortable.
The sail weight is unchanged, still light enough to retain excellent inflation characteristics in all conditions. The leading edge has received particular attention in the design process with new reinforcements which increase solidity in the nose throughout the speed range. This new reinforcement also has the effect of eliminating flutter at top speed, and makes the wing more efficient when flown accelerated.
The pilot
The Z7 is aimed at pilots who fly 30 to 50 hours a year and who are looking for a dependable wing for their first cross country flights with high levels of passive safety.
Other reviews
“Launching the Buzz Z7 even in nil wind rises smoothly, and evenly. It is an easy glider for that low B class to inflate. However, I just remembered to mention that even to this date, and after thousands of hours, I still catch every opportunity to kite any glider anywhere, as kiting your glider and playing on the ground is a very important step to evolve. The brake pressure is moderate on that Buzz Z7 and not tiring at all for long flights. The handling is sweet, and the Buzz Z7 is an agile glide for that low category without being dynamic. The level of overall comfort is similar to the Buzz Z6, with a slightly more joyful ride.
By creating the Buzz Z7, I think Ozone has given that low B a multi-functional task. While being very easy to handle and confidence-inspiring, they gave it an impressive performance package for that low B category, coupled with joyful and balanced handling. So young newcomers, or even senior pilots who are looking for a stress-free glider while preserving a good efficient level of gliding and climbing performance, should definitely try out the Buzz Z7."
