Ozone Z-Alps (PAST MODEL)

The Z-ALPS shares most features and design parameters with the ZENO. The key differences are in the materials used and the manner in which they are constructed. OZONE’s R&D Team drew from 15 years of lightweight paraglider experience to cut the weight of the Z-ALPS down 650g from the ZENO in the MS size. This reduction in weight translates to a crisper and more agile feel in the sail, improved launch and handling characteristics, and of course reduced pack volume. The Z-Alps is load tested to the same EN standard as other Ozone wings.

THE PILOT

The Z-ALPS is a 2-line design that, while fitting between the Mantra and Enzo series, flies comfortably in either category. Its behavior and in-flight comfort rivals that of the Mantra series, yet its performance is incredibly similar to open class wings. Pilots who are comfortable with the M6 or other wings in its class and are looking to learn the technicalities of flying a 2-line system will find the Z-ALPS to provide the highest level of vol-biv flying.

IN FLIGHT

The Z-ALPS is not a de-tuned comp wing, or an Enzo that was forced into an EN D box. It is its own design that has evolved in parallel with the Enzo 3 research program. It contains new technology that has improved not only glide and speed, but also behavior. The Z-ALPS is surprisingly comfortable in real XC conditions. The OZONE R&D team put countless hours into developing its compact and cohesive structure.

THE SIZE

The Z-ALPS performs well throughout the weight range and comfort / handling are exceptional not only at the upper end of each size. The extended range of the Z-ALPS allows room for vol-biv pilots range to add and remove weight during their adventure - as food and supplies dwindle, take-off weight changes. It is not necessary to fly the Z-ALPS at the top of the weight range – the performance and handling are excellent throughout the range.

THE PRICE

The Z-ALPS is one of the most complex wings that OZONE has produced, to date. OZONE's pricing is based on the real cost of materials used and the amount of time in production that is needed for each glider to be built. OZONE's fair pricing policy applies to all of OZONE's products and the Z-ALPS is no exception. With 78 cells and technical lightweight construction techniques that cut weight and ensure millimetre-precise tension across the span and chord, the Z-ALPS is at the pinnacle of modern PG construction.

ABOUT CUSTOM COLOURS

Ozone encourages you to customize your own personal colour combination for your wing. Customization generally incurs a small fee. Once you’ve decided you can share your design with your friends, or if you are ready to order, send it to your local Ozone dealer to check if there is a charge and place the final order.

Please note that because the glider will be built specifically for you in the Ozone factory, payment must be received before production can begin.

FABRIC COLOUR AND UV RESISTANCE

Please be aware that the colour you see on your screen may not accurately represent the actual fabric colour. Given the wide varience in monitor calibration and the fabric appearance in different light and colour combinations, it is impossible to perfectly represent fabric colour on screen. If you have any doubts about the colours, look at photos of various wings on OZONE's website to see them in different light and colour combinations or contact us at Flybubble to see the fabric in person.

All of the fabric that OZONE use undergoes extensive testing in prototype colour phase to ensure colourfastness, mechanical stability, porosity, and general longevity before OZONE put it into production. Once OZONE's fabric is in production, every meter of it is rigorously inspected upon arrival in OZONE's factory, and fabric which does not pass our stringent quality control standards is returned to the manufacturer. OZONE are frequently asked, "Which colours last the longest, or have the best UV resistance?" All of the colours that OZONE stock score between 4 and 5 on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the highest possible rating for longevity.
