SYMPHONIA 2: the revolution continues!
Around 4.5 years ago Phi introduced a funny striped A class wing that cost as much as a High B glider. Then they also communicated that this wing offers high B performance!
Many competitors laughed at them at the beginning, but now they begin to understand:
Not only have they created a new class with the SYMPHONIA and finally established the A class as the “standard class”. “Super High A” is now in fashion!
Thanks to this unique wing and its children, Phi have also established themselves on the market in a very short time.
And no one is surprised anymore that there are more and more funny striped wings around!
Thank you, SYMPHONIA!
Now it’s time to top it up! And it will be even more colourful!
Please welcome the SYMPHONIA 2!
Designer's notes
"The SYMPHONIA project has always been a very special engagement for me. It was and still is the establishing of a new standard: the A class as the standard class. Everything above is unnecessary luxury. The SYMPHONIA is a high performance wing with A class safety. You hardly need more. The SYMPHONIA 2 rises the margin to an even higher performance / safety level.
This is paragliding as it was meant to be: a high level of performance and a very high safety: being able to be used, controlled and enjoyed by everyone."
— Hannes Papesh, Phi Designer
Features

- The leading edge is more stable, a new intake makes launching much easier.
- The mini ribs and new rods in the nose improve performance.
- The sail cut has been revised.
- Line material and line geometry are new.
- The weight has been noticeably reduced.
Summing all up, the SYMPHONIA 2 performs even better than its predecessor and is easier to use.
- The center wing is more stable, which improves handling and safety!
- The precision and efficiency of the handling is reaching a new level.
- Glide on speed is even more outstanding.
SYMPHONIA 2 testing
Although Phi test pilots tested very hard as usual, the result was extremely good even when the wing was new and still very stiff and the temperatures were low (neither ideal).
The SYMPHONIA 2 sets new standards in terms of safety versus performance!
Flybubble review
"The Symphonia turns really well. It's getting into the climb quickly, progressively. Feeling is really good, it was like, it wants to go up well and I was flying heavier loaded. l certainly was noticing a very good glide in comparison to others. I was flying against some high performance wings, like Iota 6 and Delta 4. I certainly wasn't noticing that I was losing out. In fact, I felt like I was actually climbing considering where I am in the weight range and climbing past some some of the high-Bs too. The Symphonia 2 wants to turn tightly. You can get it in, and what's also nice is that it punches through some of the sort of snottier bits. It's a high-A, but you feel like you've definitely got the performance, you've got that nice safety feeling as well and reassurance from that. The Symphonia 2 gives you very good feedback and the handling is very, very sweet. Actually, I would say quite precise as well. It allows me to turn quite tightly.
I think the beauty of the Symphonia 2 is that you are getting something that is almost it's low- to mid-B performance, but with safety of the A."
— Nancy Elliott, Flybubble
"So I thought the Symphonia 1, in its time, was amazing. When it first came out, it, for me, revolutionised the A class in terms of everything: performance and the handling and everything. It seems like the Symphonia 2 has taken it up another step, which is pretty impressive."

Risers
This wing is delivered with the "Comfort" R01 riser as standard (recommended).
You are free to customize and choose another riser free of charge but this will delay your order by 3-7 days.
If saving every gram is your top priority, you may choose the "Superlight" RZ3 riser. This reduces the weight on the tech data list by around 250-285g but compromises usability and increases speed system pressure.
FAQ
Can the SYMPHONIA 2 be used for basic schooling?
As the SYMPHONIA 2 is an A wing, it could be used for basic schooling, but it needs more time and attention from the teacher. The student has to learn to manage the performance and the high agility. We recommend to use the FANTASIA, SOLA, SONATA for the training hill. The SYMPHONIA 2 would in that relation be the 4th step. Only very talented students should be on a SYMPHONIA 2 for their first flights. Better to step up to the SYMPHONIA 2 after some more experience.
The A class is just now establishing as the NEW STANDARD CLASS. So not only be used for schooling. It is recommended for a major group of pilots to stay in the A class for the rest of their flying career, as the SYMPHONIA 2 sets no limits.
How should the SYMPHONIA 2 be packed?
The rods of the SYMPHONIA 2 are quite short and not sensitive against bending. You can pack the SYMPHONIA 2 without big attention.
What is the service interval of the SYMPHONIA 2? Is a trim tuning needed?
The service interval is as usual 2 years from the first flight. Please fill in your first flight in the type table. On the base of our experience with the lines material mix, there is no trim tuning necessary: the trim does normally not change significantly.
Can the SYMPHONIA 2 be equipped with the C steering R07 riser?
Yes: you can order the SYMPHONIA 2 with the C handle R07 riser. As for all PHI wings you can chose the riser at ordering. The R07 riser is rising the demand, as it is not as easy to be sorted as a normal riser (because of the free ball bearing roll as the B riser). We are recommending the R07 only for more experienced pilots.
