LEAF: part of your life!

The LEAF is a REAL EN B glider, designed to please any pilot able to fly a wing of this class.

  • Category: EN-B

The LEAF benefitted from close attention in the sail design, as evidenced in a sophisticated internal structure. Supair Smart Mini Ribs allow for smooth airflow at the trailing edge and will last longer than conventional ones. The simple and fully sheathed line set will prevent trouble on take-off and the need for frequent re-trimming. Thin risers with low friction Ronstan pulleys are another sign of our quest for quality.

On inflation, the LEAF reveals its docile personality and rises smoothly above the pilot without lagging behind or overshooting, and once there it patiently waits for lift-off.

This sensation of comfort is again evident in the air. The LEAF immediately inspires confidence and leaves the pilot’s mind free to concentrate on analyzing the air mass and deciding on which route to take. A high level of passive safety will help the least experienced to cope better with turbulence, while the more accomplished pilots will handle strong conditions with more confidence. The glider is particularly undemanding on the pitch axis ; it stays centred above the pilot and doesn’t require constant correction.

This capacity to absorb a difficult air mass hasn’t come at the expense of enjoyment. Like all Supair gliders, the LEAF produces a real gliding sensation and its natural agility makes it a real toy to fly in thermals. Widening, tightening, inverting the turn all come instinctively with a good margin for error for the novice pilots and enough precision to satisfy those with more experience.

Our test-flying programme in real conditions easily demonstrated the LEAF’s potential to explore the sky and discover wide open spaces. Thanks to high-end Ronstan pulleys, speedbar pressure is very soft and long transitions can be flown in relaxed mode. The LEAF will the faithful companion of the first XC league declarations and far beyond for anyone who doesn’t want their fun to be spoilt on big cross-country flights.

Supair LEAF reviews

The LEAF is the standard weight version of the LEAF-LIGHT.

The LEAF-LIGHT is just as lovely as the LEAF to fly. I'm very impressed by the light weight and low packing volume! Great for pilots looking for an easy all-round lightweight EN B wing.

- Nancy Elliott, Flybubble

I found the Leaf to be very easy and forgiving on the ground; easier than the 'high-B' wings I mostly fly.

The handling is easy and fun. I really enjoyed flying it! Neither too dampened, nor too lively.

I'd mainly recommend the Leaf to low airtime and intermediate paraglider pilots looking to step up from their first EN A or 'low B' wing, or even more experienced pilots wanting reassurance and confidence building - who don't want the higher pilot demands that comes with a high B or C wing.

I'd also recommend the Leaf to talented and ambitious new pilots, who perhaps have good relevant transferable skills from a similar air or wind sport activity, such as paramotoring, hang gliding, kite surfing or sailing.

The Leaf fits nicely into the higher end of the Progression Class, a fun yet reassuring mid-range B wing with good performance!

- Nancy Elliott, Flybubble (full review)

The take off is super easy... Inside the thermals, the Leaf... is a real pleasure!

The brakes are linear, precise and direct, delivering a superb maneuverability! I could place the Leaf exactly where i wanted even in the roughest of air. The Leaf reacts like an extension of the pilot arm. I re-discovered flying pleasure on board this colored ‘toy’!

Climbing... showed me an impressive climb rate... and in rough air I could out-climb easily many high end gliders. For sure the climbing ability of the Leaf puts it right among the top gliders in the mixed B category. Doing lots of glides I noticed a nice trim speed in calm air for the Leaf, slightly more than the Ozone Rush 4 [high B wing].

Conclusion: I enjoyed every second flying the Leaf. The climb rate and the handling will draw smiles bigger than the pilots faces ! ;-) The Leaf is a moderate B glider just in the middle of this huge B category. It is not a very low boring B nor a lively high B. It's a balanced well behaved mid B. I think the Leaf... was created... to deliver comfort, ease of use, excellent climbing, pleasure and a lovely handling.

- Ziad Bassil

The Leaf joins a very busy market with some great wings to compete with, but it is certainly capable of mixing it with the contenders in its class, such as the Buzz Z5 and Ion 4.

On the ground it’s as easy as anyone would wish with easy inflation combined with school glider behaviour. In the air it has easy thermalling and a solid stable feel with just enough energy thrown in to give it that fun factor.

This is all combined with confident cross-country performance that will grow with you. The Leaf’s stable feel on the bar as it cuts through the bumps will encourage you to make use of this important part of a wing’s range as you progress into longer flights.

For pilots out of school and with a few hours under their belts this will make a great wing to progress on. Sup’Air have designed it to last and it has the performance and the fun factor that will make you want to keep it for a few seasons.

Of course it would also make a good wing for those weekend warriors who find they just don’t fly as much as they used to and want something that still has performance but is safe and stable. It certainly left me with a good feeling.
