Genie X-Lite: XC Made simple
The Genie X-Lite is a full-featured XC harness. It was designed to retain the essential qualities of safety, aerodynamics, comfort and convenience, whilst being as light and compact as possible.
State of the art protector: Neo Koroyd 2.2
The Neo Koroyd 2.2 back protector is a unique, patented design which crumples on impact. This results in shock absorption far in excess of conventional protectors. This is especially true on the first impact, harness certification protocols require two impacts.
Maintaining the back protector: We recommend that you inspect your back protection periodically in case it was damaged by rough handling at the take-off/landing or transportation (e.g. Airport handlers). We recommend that you do not fly with a back protector that shows signs of damage.
Warning: If the back protection zip is not fully closed, the protector will not work effectively. If the harness is subjected to temperatures exceeding 70 degrees Celsius the integrity of the back protection may be compromised. The Koroyd 4.0back protection has a valid lifetime of 5 years. The lifetime is a guide and may change depending on use, care and maintenance.
Aerocone + thinner profile = performance
The Neo Koroyd 2.2 back protector is so efficient that its thickness has been reduced to just 7cm. This low profile, coupled with a full a aerocone, makes the Genie X- L ite our most aerodynamic XC harness yet.
Comfort and precision
The Neo Koroyd 2.2 back protector is inherently rigid and thus fulfils the functions of a seat plate, aiding piloting precision and preventing the compression that often occurs with hammock-style harnesses.
Improved Geometry and ABS
The Geometry and ABS (Anti Balance System) has been trimmed and tuned for stability and handling authority, giving the XC pilot comfort and stability whilst thermalling. The ABS system allows the pilot to adjust in-flight stability with just one hand. This makes it easy to switch between a sensitive thermal-sniffing set up and a more roll-stable set up for glides.
Easy to carry and to use
The Genie X-Lite has a low packing volume and can easily fit in our 80L rucksack. It also has a large back pocket, ideal for carrying bivouac gear. Buckling and unbuckling is a breeze thanks to Cobra buckles and a relatively small number of connection points.
Lightweight materials made to last
Great care and attention has been taken regarding the choice of materials. The 70D Dyneema shell fabric is more durable than the common lightweight fabrics and 13mm Dyneema webbing (covered for extra protection) is used for the entire base structure.
Certification
The Genie X Lite is EN and LTF certified, max load 120 daN. Certification number: PH 342.2021 | CE certification.

Flybubble review
"After putting the Gin Genie X-Lite through its paces, it's clear that ease of entry isn't its strongest suit. Unlike some other harnesses, slipping into the Genie X-Lite isn't as straightforward as one might hope. The absence of a bungee makes the process more cumbersome than it needs to be, particularly when you're eager to get in the air..
Moving on to ground handling, the narrow leg straps of the Genie X-Lite aren't the most forgiving. Not exactly comfy, but hey, it's all part of the game with these ultralight harnesses. Additionally, maneuvering one's feet into the speed bag can feel like a wrestling match at times, further complicating the pre-flight routine.
Once you're finally airborne, though, things start to look up. The harness feels pretty decent in flight - not the most stable out there, but it gets the job done. Just be prepared for a bit of a wobble in turbulent air. Expect a degree of weight shift sensitivity, especially in turbulent conditions, which may require more active piloting to maintain control.
Regarding the flight deck, its functionality is adequate, though a minor design flaw presents itself in the form of a plastic buckle that tends to disengage unexpectedly. This oversight can be frustrating for pilots who rely on the secure storage of their instruments during flight.
Despite its quirks, the Genie X-Lite does offer some notable attributes. Its leg support is commendable, and while not the lightest option available, it strikes a balance between weight and durability that may appeal to a broader range of pilots.
Overall, the Gin Genie X-Lite is a harness that demands a bit of patience during setup but rewards pilots with a satisfactory flying experience once in the air. While it may not excel in every aspect, its blend of comfort and functionality makes it a respectable choice for those seeking a dependable mid-range harness."
