Seamless weight ranges
The SIGMA 11 size selection was thought of as having Seamless Weight Ranges between 10 and 15 kg steps. Every pilot’s flying weight will find itself within only one ideal takeoff weight range, because these ranges extend seamlessly through the glider sizes, but do not overlap. These SIGMA 11 ideal takeoff weight areas provide the optimal relationship between gliding speed and climb performance for each size in all normal flying conditions, and also take into account the different paraglider size characteristics.

SIGMA 11 — Ambitious Cross Country
For 30 years the legendary SIGMA series has consistently represented tradition and progress. The first ADVANCE serial wing in 1989 was the SIGMA. Since then a series of SIGMA's has set the handling standard for the Sport Class.
The SIGMA 11 is a completely new development and once more takes its place among high-performing C wings. The new profile excels in both balanced pitch stability and a high level of directional stability. The result of these handling advances is not only better performance, but above all greater flying comfort: relaxed flying over long distances without tiredness. An effective Pitch-Control-System gives a real two-liner feeling. The new cross country sportster is a whole 400 grams lighter than the SIGMA 10, and perfect wing structural design does away with C-wires. This means the 11 is simpler to fold with an even more compact result.
An aspect ratio of 6.07 and 65 cells put the high quality XC-Intermediate in the middle of the C Class. The SIGMA is intended for the experienced and ambitious cross country pilot, who particularly likes sporting and lively handling. Pure flying fun is guaranteed, including while enjoying the satisfaction of long cross country adventures.
The SIGMA 11's outstanding performance can be called upon any time, even in demanding conditions. Latest technologies like internally sewn miniribs and an effective pitch control arrangement with 2-liner feel finish off this product. Improved internal load distribution design makes for simpler packing because C-wires are no longer required.
Performing — performance benchmark
A completely redeveloped profile gives the SIGMA 11 significant pitch stability. This results in not just a marked increase in performance in turbulence, but a much higher level of flying comfort on long flights. 3X3D shaping, reduced line surface area and a swept element to the wing planform are all further performance-enhancing features of this high-end XC wing.
Sporty — new sportiness
The SIGMA 11 delights with its comfortably direct handling, immediately conveying the feeling of this wing’s sportiness to the pilot. Perfectly refined wing curvature and well-proven brake line geometry allows the XC Sportster to answer its smallest control input directly and precisely. This playful handling guarantees the best flying fun.
High-Tech — light, robust & safe
Weight-optimised internal structure means that a SIGMA 11 is available weighing only 4 kg, even though the outer wing surfaces are constructed of 38gm/32gm fabric. Ideal internal wing stress distribution design means that the wing does not have C-Wires on its upper surface, making it even more light and compact. Modified C level supports also improve extreme flight characteristics and raises the passive safety level.
Technology & features
3X3D shaping
The strongly curved and flow-sensitive area of the leading edge is now integrated by a triple graduation of 3D shaping. The result: a crease-free leading edge and smooth upper wing surface for clean airflow and more performance.
Advance quality lightbuild
The low weight of the SIGMA 11 is primarily achieved by its sophisticated and carefully designed internal structure. Because the outer surfaces are still made of robust 40/38 gm cloth the light weight has no effect on the glider’s long life expectancy. The fabric used for the the SIGMA 11 is exclusively high quality cloth from Porcher Sports, the well-know European manufacturer.
Efficient pitch-control system with C handles
The SIGMA 11 has an up-to-date Pitch-Control-System with C handles. This system transmits an element of C line input to the B line level so as to maintain an ideal profile shape. Even in accelerated flight the wing can be actively flown and steered by means of this C/B arrangement, giving a realistic two-liner feeling.
Latest Edelrid Pro Dry lines
The SIGMA 11 is equipped throughout with colour-differentiated Pro Dry Lines from Edelrid. This latest generation of uncovered line is a further development of the highly respected 8000 Aramid line and has a 60% higher humidity exclusion factor. This line is extremely stable in length and demonstrates above-average resistance to failure after long use.

Flybubble review
“How long have Advance been making Sigma series? Well 30 years and that brings us to Sigma 11. There's been quite a few interactions since the first Sigma. Sigma 11 is Advance sport class glider. I still feel that Advance build quality is pretty much second to none. When you look at all the details, it's just beautiful, all the stitching, everything looks really great and clean.
Sigma 11 it's an absolute pleasure to launch and kite, one of the nicest gliders ever. For the sports class, I feel it's one of the easier gliders to launch and one of the less demanding. Sigma 11 really communicates to you through the rises and the breaks very clearly what's happening. So it's so easy to just kite on the ground without looking at the glider, even when it's kind of gusty and variable conditions. Because of the real precision in it's handling and the fact that turns very sharp and very immediately when you hit the lift, you can really make the most out of even the trickiest little bits of lift. In facts, it turns that sort of into a real joy, a pleasure.
Another thing about Sigma I really like is the level of feedback, it's like Goldilocks feeling. It's not to much and it's not too little. It's exceptionally good, finding those weak, kinds of tricky to find climbs and at other end when it's really sporty and kind of active. Because it's very pitch stable and doesn't jump about in turbulence, it sort of cuts through the air nicely. When it's really choppy and stuff, you do need to fly a bit actively. It is very collapse resistant. When I included some collapses, the glider reacts more benignly than it's predecessor. It's very much like mid-C of the class in terms how behaves in collapses included.
This is the glider that's made for thermalling. The precision and the fact the glider wants to cut into the air, it doesn't hang back, and it wants to bite into the lift, and it communicates to you where the best part of the lift is, what the air's doing around you, without excessively moving around or giving you too much feedback. It means that you can really, you feel like you can really make the most outta' the thermal. The glide performance just from gliding with others is certainly right up there with the other C-class gliders.
Going onto the speed system. So the glide picks up a nice bit of speed. It feels like it's quite quick for the EN-C class, one of the quicker ones.
With the new EN-C 2-liners the top-end speed there might be just a little faster. I haven't actually had the opportunity to confirm that, it's just a feeling. You just need to be flying actively on the rear risers and using the pitch control system, the BC system. The BC system is quite physical, it's quite heavy in fact. But it's very smooth and efficient. So when you pull it down, the glider keeps really clean.
In summary, the SIGMA 11 is a truly fantastic sports wing—exemplary behaviour, top performance, and—for me, the most important aspect of all by far—a real pleasure to fly! Very comfortable yet highly enjoyable feeling and handling, giving very precise control. The SIGMA 11 is really a very beautiful, exceptionally super-clean wing! Now we know that not everyone is quite as gear-freaky as we at Flybubble are but this wing makes us drool, just looking at it! I'm sure the SIGMA 11 is going to enrapture many other pilots too!"
