Specially made neoprene "sock", designed to prevent the twisting of maillons (metal quick links) used to connect the reserve parachute bridle (aka "rescue risers") ends to the reserve bridle connection points on the harness at one end and the reserve strop at the other end. It also helps protect the reserve parachute lines from abrasion.

Neoprene Maillon Cover by Gin Gliders
Neoprene reserve system connector (maillon, reserve bridle and line) cover, position-fixer and protector. This durable neoprene "sock" is designed to fit perfectly over a 7mm square, standard (oval) or delta (triangular) maillon, used to connect the webbing from a single bridle reserve parachute to the reserve bridle connected (or integrated into) to your harness.
Made from tough elastic neoprene, this neoprene cover is designed to fit tightly over over a 7mm square, standard or delta maillon. It holds the webbing in place on the maillon, preventing maillon rotation and also covers the connector for safety in the event of a deployment.
This cover can also be used with 6mm square, standard (oval) or delta (traiangular) maillons, but the fit will be a bit loose (bit still OK). For anything smaller, this cover is too big. It can also be used with 8mm square, standard (oval) or delta (traiangular) maillons, but will be a very tight fit - perhaps even requiring some careful cutting of the cover to be able to get it on. For anything bigger, this cover is too small.
Used widely by paraglider, paramotor and hang glider pilots, this neoprene maillon cover is particularly popular with paramotor pilots (probably due to the exposed connections and hard paramotor frame).
