Take-off at Valadares, "Pico de Ibituruna", is a large grassy hill 900m AGL (1123m ASL) with launches facing roughly North, with views over the city of Governador Valadares, and South, towards Rio. This effectively covers all prevalent wind directions, although you sometimes have to pick the right moment! The wind at launch is usually a gentle thermic breeze, sometimes so light it comes up both sides of the hill!
