The Last Saved Position screen (on SYS’GPS V3 screen #3; on SYS’Nav V3 screen #6) works in a similar way to the Man Overboard (MOB) function which exists on many Marine GPS units. As with other GPS functions, your Syride instrument needs to have a valid GPS signal for this to work, otherwise it will just show “NO GPS”.
Last year, Dale Lippstreu flew 268km in South Africa on his ATOS (Class 5 rigid wing hang glider). Although longer flights are often achieved across the South African interior, this is an exceptional flight for the mountainous region of the Western Cape, where the technical challenges usually end flights well before 200km.Read more

The Free Flight Physiology Project made its debut this year at the Coupe d’Icare, aiming to improve the safety and performance of pilots, and to push the boundaries of comparative physiology research.
The group is led by expedition doctor and paraglider pilot Dr Matt Wilkes and Exeter University physiological ecologist Dr Lucy Hawkes.Read more
