Skywalk Poison 3 certified EN D

The third generation of Skywalk’s flagship paraglider, the serial class Poison, has been certified EN / LTF D in sizes S and M, which together cover an in-flight weight range of 80 – 110 kg.

Skywalk say the bar was high for them, as the Poison 2 was so successful especially on its home turf – it finished at the top of the German Paragliding league’s serial class for two consecutive years.

However, the company say the The Poison 3, with its aspect ratio of 7, is even better. They say its impressively good, balanced handling marries its top performance. Strengtheners in the nose and individual line connectors to the risers add “unprecedented” stability, even when accelerated, to its list of assets.

Skywalk are still using their silver cloth, but now have a stronger, more abrasion-resistant version of it: the aluminium-lined AerofabrixAL32 has an extra protective coating.

Paul Guschlbauer took a Poison 3 to Lienz in Austria back in September, where he won the paragliding leg of the relay adventure race the Dolomitenmann contest. Paul works for Skywalk and played a key role in the development of the wing, and will be competing on a Poison in the 2011 red Bull X-Alps.
