About the course
This will be cross country flying course aimed at intermediate pilots, run by Carlo Borsattino in world-famous flying area Piedrahita in the Avila province of central Spain.
As well as a huge amount of experience at sites around the world, Carlo has flown extensively in the Piedrahita area - including a dozen top-level international paragliding competitions - and was top British pilot and 2nd Overall in the Piedrahita British Paragliding Open 2001.
The aim of this trip will be for everyone on the course to get as much thermalling and XC flying as possible, aided by our extensive site and local area knowledge and expert in-flight thermalling and XC coaching by radio.
In short, you will learn a lot about XC and general flying techniques, and fly as much as possible!
What pilot level?
Club Pilot + 25 hours, with previous thermalling experience.
Although the flying conditions at this time of year should be relatively gentle compared to mid-summer conditions, this is a thermalling and cross country course and so you will need to be able to launch and land yourself unsupervised, and fly safely in thermic, potentially turbulent conditions.

- XC Retrieve, along day's specified route.
- 'Site and in-flight' guidance with radios*.
- Flying / XC theory lectures (if required).
- Individual Pilot Coaching (if required).
*Airport transfers will only be on specified dates and times (to be confirmed).
*Radios are not included in the course.
